Linda Farrow was the go-to-gal for stellar sunglasses in the ’70s, (of such magnitude that Yoko Ono was her number one client). The ’90s came and the shades vanished (as all fashion trends come to an end at some point).  But, some do resurface in later years and Linda Farrow’s shades have undoubtedly done just that in a big way for good reason.

In 2003, Farrow’s son Simon Jablon found a hidden catalogue of over 2000 vintage styles in the family’s Islington, London warehouse. What was a fellow to do with such vast unseen beauty? Mass produce and sell it, of course. And with these revived 2000 or so vintage sunglasses back on the shelves and onto beautiful faces, came widespread attention from consumers, the media and celebrities. Luckily, the revival of Linda Farrow sunglasses meant thousands and thousands of styles to choose from thanks to special collaborations with Luella, Lady Gaga, Jeremy Scott, Sophia Kokosalaki, House of Holland, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s The Row, and Dries Van Noten; as well as a host of fashionistas including Kate Moss, Nicole Richie and Sienna Miller.

Check out the site and see for yourself: every pair is exquisitely crafted and oozing with edge. Once you see these babies, you will just adore ALL of them, one pair won’t be enough. You may find yourself having to resort to doing the “eeny-meeny-miny-moe” method just to narrow down the selection and make a decision (and it’ll suffice, every pair is just fucking awesome).

Check out Lady Gaga’s steamy 8-minute “Alejandro” music video, released today. Directed by Steven Klein, the sex-as-art portrayal features Gaga in various barely-there costumes (including a Madonna-”Vogue”-esque get-up) and is loaded with ripped men and tons of religious iconography.  Rumor has it that Gaga has been talking up the idea of posing in an upcoming issue of the eternal men’s magazine, Playboy. Think that’s a smart career move?

She also picked up her 3 Echo awards (“Best International Female Artist”, “Best Single Of The Year” for her single Poker Face and “Best International Newcomer” as well as a quadruple Platinum award for more than 800,000 sold albums)  after being unable to attend the Echo Awards 2010 back in March.

At the Brit Awards 2010, Lady Gaga won Best International Female, International Album for The Fame and International Breakthrough Act! She sang “Telephone” and “Dance in the Dark”, sitting  solo at her grand piano. Still wearing the Marie Antoinette-esque wig she arrived in, Gaga announced at the beginning of her performance: “This is for Alexander McQueen.”

She called herself a “Polaroid girl” that was “outraged” when the company filed for bankruptcy in 2001 and discussed that she would be helping Polaroid to update their iconic instant film cameras for the digital age. “The Haus of Gaga has been developing prototypes in the vein of fashion/technology/photography innovation – blending the iconic history of Polaroid and instant film with the digital era,” she said. “I am so excited to extend myself behind the scenes as a designer, and to as my father puts it – finally have a real job.”
