Filmmaker John Waters was once quoted as saying, "Greg Gorman is the only person I'd let photograph my corpse.” If you’ve seen Pink Flamingos or the original version of Hairspray, that’s a flattering remark.

In general, everyone has something they’re good at. For Greg Gorman, it’s celebrity portraits and nudes, a niche market that has earned him an exhibition this month at the Pacific Design Center. Titled "A Distinct Vision," more than 190 images, including previously unpublished portraits of male celebs like Leonardo Di Caprio, Johnny Depp, Mark Wahlberg, Jude Law and Tom Cruise, will be on display and are featured in his most recent book, “In Their Youth.”
