Coachella 2011 Lineup Announced

2011 Coachella lineup has been announced, and it's enough to make any music lover drool. Once again, the weekend party in Indio will be offering performances from an eclectic set of musicians, spanning across indie rock, electro-pop, straight techno, rap, soul, punk, and more. So who's headlining? The big names on the three days are Kings of Leon on Friday, Arcade Fire on Saturday, and Kanye West and The Strokes on Sunday. Of course, those headliners will be joined by countless other bands. Here's a list by day of some of the big names and/or Minx Society favorites that will be appearing:

Silverlake’s Most Iconic Music Venue, Spaceland, Set to Reopen as Satellite

Silver Lake’s most storied indie rock venue, Spaceland, is closing its doors after fifteen years of rock & roll magic.

The club, which launched the LA debut of popular acts like My Morning Jacket, the Foo Fighters, and Arcade Fire and propelled the early careers of indie luminaries like Beck, Elliot Smith, and Local Natives, is shutting down operations in March and reopening as The Satellite.

According to Buzz Bands LA, Mitchell Frank, the owner of Spaceland Productions and the Spaceland brand, and Jeff Wolfram, the building owner, have reached an amicable settlement to end their fifteen year business partnership.

If there’s one thing you can say about Arcade Fire, above all else, it’s that they know how to construct an album. The Suburbs, which entered the Billboard Top 200 albums chart at No. 1, is less an album and more a symphony, with interludes, songs divided into parts I and II, and repeating themes.
