For the Venice Film Festival premiere of Sofia Coppola’s buzzworthy Somewhere, the new “Gossip Girl” actress Clemence Poesy dressed down her ultra feminine blush-pink Louis Vuitton top with a denim circle skirt and completed the look with LV accessories, including a pair of super swank black velvet wedges and a small black clutch. Opting for a more elegant take on femininity, Michelle Williams wore a Jason Wu gown, Bulgari gems and a Cecelia clutch for the Venice Film Festival’s premiere of Meek’s Cutoff. Which do you prefer?

FYF: Worth The Wait

New York punk/funk scenesters: The Rapture, Panda Bear and local indie acts: Best Coast, Local Natives, and Dead Man’s Bones (complete with a children’s choir) were among the top shining stars of the 35 strong lineup at this year’s FYF festival.
Defying hour-long waits for booze and toilets (even the Cha Cha Lounge’s VIP section was jam-packed), a crowd of around 10,000 braved the dust, heat and chaos on Saturday at the Los Angeles State Historic Park, to dance, sing, bond and parade an assortment of fashion statements.A few highlights greeted the eager sea of mustaches, oversized hats, vintage boots, lots of lace, denim cutoffs, and how could we leave out the hipster fox tail trend (wtf?).
Panda Bear (Noah Lennox of Animal Collective) completely reinterpreted his usual song structure and onstage dynamic, embracing all things abrasive and discordant over the band’s trademark fluttering melancholia of “Merriweather Post Pavilion.”
Also pulling a rabbit out of their hat were the ever-so-eccentric Dead Man’s Bones, who brought a fully-costumed kids choir (who called themselves the ”Warm Glass of Milk” of the Silverlake Children’s Choir) on stage as a creative addition to their eagerly anticipated set. Ryan Gosling (whose voice proved to be exceptional live) charmed a huge enthusiastic crowd, some seeming a little miffed by the choir.
The Rapture always has the ability to get the legions on their feet, and this wasn’t an exception on Saturday. Despite New York’s finest having been laying low in a live context for several months working on new material in their Brooklyn studio, The Rapture was in full affect as they closed FYF with the likes of “Get Myself Into It,” “Killing,” and “Sister Saviour.” Frontman Luke Jenner’s vocals were off the charts as he belted out the cowbell-ridden ”House of Jealous Lovers” to a wildly excited crowd.
The Rapture concluded their hour-long set with a long overdue new song (their last album release being “No Sex for Ben” in 2008) entitled ‘Sail Away,’ presenting the bands new sound which moves on from their punk rock proclivities and moves into the new wave world. There’s no album release date as of yet, but we will keep you posted!

Lady & Ruin, All the Rage

Presenting “Lady & Ruin,” the newest affordable jewelry line brought to us Angeleno’s by the other coast. Melissa Limoncelli, Graduate of 2005 from New York’s esteemed Parsons, has managed to create a cohesive collection of effortlessly cool jewelry.
From the uber trendy three-finger rings, head-turning spiked bangles, mixed-metal necklaces, and glitzy stud earrings, “Lady & Relic” is the hottest (and most reasonable – prices range from $35 to $650) jewelry line to grab our attention since Nicole Richie’s “House of Harlow” first debuted. Every piece (delineated by each of the subcategories: Tribalista, Sugar & Spykes, Urban Warrior, Rebel Simple, and Mon Petit Charms), reflects that of a modern minx – timeless beauty with a whole lot of edge.
Our picks include: The Chain Gang Bangle ($150) is a more feminine piece that shimmers delicately on your wrist while the Call Me Petit Spyke Bangle ($180) gives a nod to punk rock. The Tangled In You Necklace ($595), with its tangled mess of metals and silver is just perfect – see for yourself.
Limoncelli says she “aimed to create modern relics — durable pieces that pay homage to ageless standards of quality while offering a current perspective for a new generation of women.” And she’s done just that. Get yourself a custom-designed geometric mixed-metal ring (via her website) and you’ll easily take that ensemble to a whole new level of cool.

Up and coming designer Jessica Robinson’s new jewelry line is proof that all that glitters is gold. And that works out well for those looking for a fabulous piece of jewelry to bling up these last few weeks of summer.
Robinson’s pieces feature luminous pyramid studs, diamond embossed lines, and classically elegant stones set in 14k gold. If you’ve watched anyone walk the red carpet recently, chances are they were sporting one of her pieces. Celebrities like Fergie, Dakota Fanning, Taylor Swift, and Anne Hathaway have all been spotted with accents of Robinson.
Sienna Miller was photographed donning Robinson’s Palm Feather Earrings, set in 14k yellow gold and embellished with glittering diamonds. While Kristen Stewart sported the Double Infinity Ring in champagne to this year’s MTV Movie Awards. The ring is worn on all four fingers and is encrusted in diamonds; think of it as a sort of chic version of brass knuckles.
Our personal favorites extend to the brass and yellow gold Angel Wing Choker, which is ideal for a night out. And the Scarab Ring, which has a glimmering finish we can already imagine looking fantastic while poolside.

All The Rage: Linda Farrow Shades

Linda Farrow was the go-to-gal for stellar sunglasses in the ’70s, (of such magnitude that Yoko Ono was her number one client). The ’90s came and the shades vanished (as all fashion trends come to an end at some point). But, some do resurface in later years and Linda Farrow’s shades have undoubtedly done just that in a big way for good reason.
In 2003, Farrow’s son Simon Jablon found a hidden catalogue of over 2000 vintage styles in the family’s Islington, London warehouse. What was a fellow to do with such vast unseen beauty? Mass produce and sell it, of course. And with these revived 2000 or so vintage sunglasses back on the shelves and onto beautiful faces, came widespread attention from consumers, the media and celebrities. Luckily, the revival of Linda Farrow sunglasses meant thousands and thousands of styles to choose from thanks to special collaborations with Luella, Lady Gaga, Jeremy Scott, Sophia Kokosalaki, House of Holland, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s The Row, and Dries Van Noten; as well as a host of fashionistas including Kate Moss, Nicole Richie and Sienna Miller.
Check out the site and see for yourself: every pair is exquisitely crafted and oozing with edge. Once you see these babies, you will just adore ALL of them, one pair won’t be enough. You may find yourself having to resort to doing the “eeny-meeny-miny-moe” method just to narrow down the selection and make a decision (and it’ll suffice, every pair is just fucking awesome).

YSL’s Belle D’Opium ball

Everyone who is anyone has been buzzing over Yves Saint Laurent’s Belle d’Opium perfume launch party; so much so that the grand ball has lived up to its legacy dating back to the infamous launch of the original ‘Opium’ fragrance, which took place in 1977.
It-girl Alexa Chung DJed (and chose the perfect ensemble to do it in: gray tee, cream cardigan and destructed black leather shorts from the YSL Spring 2010 collection), circus freaks (jugglers, fire breathers, and Tarot Card readers, of course) entertained and Minx Society was lucky enough to mingle with the likes of Whitney Port, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Alexis Bledel, MIA, fashion designer Jeremy Scott, internet sensation Cory Kennedy, photographer Mark “The Cobrasnake” Hunter and Ashley Olsen.
Our pick for the night: Maggie Gyllenhaal, who looked beyond stunning in a pink chiffon YSL Edition Soir 2010 dress with Yves Saint Laurent Hamptons Tribute sandals. We also loved Whitney Port’s choice: a black and tan Yigal Azrouël Spring 2010 collection dress (the reality star was inseparable from ‘The City’ camera crew, although we were surprised to find that mega-bitch and co-star New York socialite Olivia Palermo was not in attendance).
To top off the over-the-top bash, the celebrated fragrance was released through the gold cylinders at the end of the night…

Alexa Chung may have gotten the boot from MTV, but these days everyone wants a piece of the Brit style maven’s fashion sense—including Madewell, J. Crew’s chic little sister.
Arriving this fall, much to our giddy excitement, is Chung’s 20-piece collection of preppy cool separates. Labeled so eloquently by Chung herself as “English schoolgirl,” the collection features velvet shorts, high-waisted skinnies, blazers, clogs (with chunky socks of course), cardigans, and other staples ever-present in the former model’s laidback wardrobe. If you’re anything like us, you’re craving to look as effortlessly cool as Chung, so let the countdown to fall begin!
For all you minxes bound to online shopping, Madewell has finally entered into the world of e-commerce. Check it out.

The Sex and The City 2 Premiere, hosted by Mercedes-Benz And Maybach at the Radio City Music Hall last night, was bustling with famous fashionistas including Sarah Jessica Parker & Kim Cattrall (obviously), Becki Newton, Jessica Szhor, and Michelle Trachtenberg. Our favorite, The City’s Whitney Port rocked all Moschino with a classic Tinkerbell-esque bun on the top of her head.
