Where To Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in LA


It’s Cinco de Mayo AND Taco Tuesday, baby. And you know what that means: double the reason to celebrate life fiesta-style with lots of guacamole, tacos, and tequila. Get to one of these hot spots to celebrate, and find out where to get $5 margaritas, tacos served out of a restored VW Van, tequila snow cones & mezcal lollipops!

Petty Cash Taqueria


This is one of Minx Society’s favorite LA spots to visit due to its adventurous yet delicious food and all around hip vibes. Petty Cash will open its doors today at noon with tunes by DJ Fernie and entertainment by an adult balloon man. Try the baja fish tacos, the octopus tacos, or go more extreme foodie with duck gizzard tacos. To compliment your taco meal they offer interesting side options like brussel sprouts and a cheesy churro situation with a green corn dipping sauce. They even have fit for foodies sea urchin guacamole!

Gracias Madre


Vegan Mexican done right in a fabulous al fresco setting. We didn’t believe it until we tried it…There will be $5 guacamole and chips, empanadas, flautas and tamales all day. A snow cone machine will be available on the patio from 5 to 11 p.m. with a tequila mule snow cone made with tequila blanco, house-made ginger beer and lime ($10). And a mariachi band will perform from 6 to 9 p.m.

Ceremony Bar

ceremony narThis super new Studio City restaurant will have $10 bottomless sangria and mimosas from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m today. From 3 to 6 p.m., receive 25% off your entire bill, and a live mariachi band will perform from 6 to 8 p.m. Try the Mezcal lollipops! This spot is already heating up with a ton of buzz after being open for under a week – try their Baja-style tacos and Cuban sandwiches made in a restored VW bus.

El Carmen


This is one of our favorite Mexican joints. Why? Because the vibe is ultra cool, the food is spectacular and they have more than 420 varieties of tequila to choose from. $5 margaritas…

The Bungalow


Our favorite beach-side hot spot, The Bungalow, is throwing an awesome Cinco de Mayo party. The party starts at 5 p.m. and includes tacos, chips and guacamole, nachos, churros and drink specials. The California Feetwarmers will perform.

Casa Vega


Celebrity-favorite Casa Vega is home to best Mexican food in Los Angeles – with their bottomless baskets of homemade salsa and chips and super-strong tequila vacation-style cocktails, and other delicious items such as pollo en mole and chile colorado. Take advantage of their happy hour today and every day from  2:30-7 PM for $5 Margaritas.

Tortilla Republic


Everyone’s favorite West Hollywood Mexican hot spot is hosting their annual Cinco de Mayo party.  There will be a Mariachi Band, Tequila specials from El Jimador, DJ Asha, and Photobooth! They host a Taco Tuesday fiesta regularly, which includes a 2 for $6 tacos menu featuring Chicken Tinga Tacos with cotija cheese, cilantro crema, and roasted corn salsa; Prime Hanger Steak Tacos with fajita rub, salsa de mesa, and tequila slaw; and Sweet Potato Hibiscus Tacos with jicama, gorgonzola cream, and cilantro. You can also substitute butter lettuce for tortillas as “Skinni Style” tacos. They also offer their signature house made margarita on special for $6 or $30 for a pitcher.
