Atlas Genius Is, Well…Genius

Hello all you sexy minxes. Can we stop and talk about how amazing Atlas Genius is? Flirting with the line between ‘Alternative’ and ‘Indie Rock’ and a sound that’s heavily influenced by Franz Ferdinand and The Rapture, these Aussies really know how to play music.

Even though they already had songs written and ready to go Atlas Genius only played covers by The Police, The Beatles, and the Rolling Stones the first two of the three years they’ve been together. Made up of two brothers (vocalist/guitarist Keith Jeffery, drummer Michael Jeffery) and their good friend (keyboardist Darren Sell) Atlas Genius just needed the timing to be right to compete with the likes of Foster the People, CHAPPO and White Rabbits. And it’s safe to say their timing was phenomenal.

When KCRW notices you for your talents, you know you’re doing something right. In fact they played the KCRW showcase at SXSW this last March and blew the roof off the place along with sets by Ra Ra Riot and Toro y Moi. The newly released single ‘If So’ is climbing up the charts, passing their already hit song, ‘Trojans’.

And are you ready for this, minxes? Starting September 21st the trio will be touring with Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., The Colourist, and Family of the Year! That’s gotta rock your socks! They will all be right here in the beautiful City of Angels on November 6th at the Wiltern. If you’ve never been, this is your chance to go to a classic venue and take some pictures you can NEVER recreate.

All of their music can be found on iTunes, their website, and SoundCloud. If you go to their website right now, you can sign up for a FREE, exclusive download to an awesome remix of ‘If So.’
