Dining Deals: The Very Best of DineLA

It’s that time again and DineLA has taken over most of the hottest restaurants in this big city and we’re here to tell you the best ones to hit up. It’s an excuse to check out new spots (or oldies but goodies) at a reasonable price. Starting on Monday, July 15th restaurants through out the city will be taken over by DineLA. If you are unfamiliar with DineLA, it is an exercise in culinary adventure, spanning 12-days from July 15 – July 26, including over 300 eateries, and showcases the best in food and drink that Los Angeles has to offer; participating restaurants will offer up prix fixe lunch and/or dinner menus for special prices. Here’s Minx Society’s carefully selected list of DineLA’s best participants:

Ago – If you’re in the mood for comforting Italian fare with Hollywood flare, Robert De Niro’s very own restaurant, Ago, is the place to go! Offering a $25 lunch and $45 dinner full of great cuts of meat, fresh seafood,  a healthy dose of parmesan cheese, and an ambiance that pays for itself! Molto deliziosa!

Asia de Cuba – Spectacular city views aren’t the only thing that will take your breath away at this West Hollywood eatery. Asia de Cuba’s name is representative of the restaurant itself; combining all the best of Asian and Latin cuisine. With a $25 lunch and $45 dinner, you can have your Thai Beef salad and eat your churros too!

Bagatelle – Searching for classically chic French food in a classically chic French atmosphere, look no further than Bagatelle. Dine on dishes from their dinner menu like Risotto Barigoule, Loup de Mer, with peach & strawberry galette for le dessert for $45.

Black Hogg – Located in the heart of Silverlake, the Black Hogg is a gastropub with a bite. With a $35 dinner  menu ranging from Pork Bun and Octopus Chana Masala to Brussels Sprout Hash and Jamaican Airline Chicken, this simply designed neighborhood staple will become a staple for you…but don’t forget to save room for the Five Leches Bread Pudding!

Cleo – Successfully evoking the class of old Hollywood mixed with warm and cozy atmosphere of a tucked away little mezze bar, Cleo is one of new Hollywood’s most highly sought after eateries. Their $35 dinner menu brings together the best of fresh Mediterranean delights in the heart of Hollywood.

Fig and Olive – Another destination for Mediterranean goodness is West Hollywood’s Fig and Olive. With a signature olive oil (served with everything dish) and wine menu not to be scoffed at, F & O is a great place to eat – whether you’re taking advantage of their amazing $25 lunch or a decadent dinner menu for $45, you can’t go wrong!

Katsuya – When you think Katsuya, you think of delicious Japanese and with four locations offering up four different menus, you can grab a casual $20 lunch in Glendale or a $45 dinner with the who’s-who in Hollywood; all while dining under the watchful eyes of modern art.

Little Next Door – Whether you dine in the lush patio setting or the more couple-friendly Blue Room, Little Next Door’s atmosphere definitely will not disappoint. Nosh on Chef Peter’s mouth-watering French delights. From polenta to wild cod to lemon tarte brûlée, the $20 lunch and $25 dinner is an absolute must-try!

Littlefork – Hollywood newcomer, Littlefork, is an American seafood restaurant that brings the bold flavors of the Atlantic Northeast to the West Coast. Their $35 dinner menu includes pork belly, steak frites, apple cider donut holes, and more in a minimalist setting.

Mercato di Vetro – fresh, homemade ingredients, an open social setting, and a menu that focuses on small plates, Mercato di Vetro is modeled after markets in Italy. Enjoy delectable dinner bites with familiar faces or new friends…all for $25!

Messhall – Seasonal, sustainable, and local; three things that the folks at MessHall look for in all the ingredients they use to prepare their re-imagined American taste. Burgers, sandwiches, and stew are just a few of the things you’ll find on in this cool Loz Feliz raw bar and Tavern.

Mr Chow – Chic Chinese dining in the polished atmosphere of Beverly Hills or light seaside-style decor of Malibu, Mr Chow brings you a mix on authentic and original dishes that’ll make you feel like a celebrity…while you probably dine next to you! Visit for either for lunch or dinner, $25 and $45 respectively.

Red O – If LA is known for any particular kind of food, it’s a safe bet that it’s probably Mexican, but at Red O you’re going to get more than you’re run-of-the-mill burrito or taco. The masterminds behind this Melrose Ave hotspot are bringing diners “California-style” meals: from albacore with serrano chile ceviche to grilled shrimp with  sweet plantains. For $45, you can enjoy a three-course meal that will change the way you think of Mexican in America.

Sadie – American eats with a chic twist is what Sadie Kitchen and Lounge offers patrons. Their $35 dinner menu brings you dishes like fried chicken & a sweet potato waffle in a simple, yet sophisticated open atmosphere. We’re sold!

STK – We all know that vowels are SO out and that’s why STK is the chicest steakhouse in West Hollywood. Abandoning the stuffiness of traditional steakhouses, STK brings together high-gloss black surfaces, a DJ, and purple color palette that isn’t for the meek.  With a $45 dinner menu, now is the perfect time to abandon your preconceived notions of steak at the door.

The Bazaar – Nestled inside the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, The Bazaar by Jose Andres offers a $45 dinner menu complete with fusion cuisine in three unique spaces: Bar Centro, Blanco Rojo, and Patisserie. Make sure to order one (or three) of their cocktails – they’re as intricately created as the food!

Tortilla Republic – Tortilla Republic is more than just a cool spot to grab a tortilla, it’s a new way to look at Mexican fare. Tequila battered shrimp, strawberry ceviche, and duck tamales are just a small few of the items this grill and tequileria are serving up on their $20 lunch menu and $35 dinner menu. Arriba!
