The Best of Fashion’s Night Out in LA

On Tuesday, September 4th, 2012

We know you celebrate great style every day, but it’s that time of year again when we get an actual day dedicated to fashion! Fashion’s Night Out is part block party and part shopping spree, bringing together the whole town in everything fashion related. Vogue editor Anna Wintour created the event four years ago and the celebrations continue next Thursday September 6th. There are a lot of parties to sort through that night, so here are some tips to help narrow down your options.

Planet Blue – Minx Society is throwing this bash at our favorite Malibu shopping spot! Stop by to see designer Mary Myers of Novella Royal, enjoy wine, giveaways, mingling, and of course shopping at 20% off the entire store with a check in. 6-10PM rsvp@minxsociety.com

Kill City – The hip Melrose store is hosting an event where you can fulfill all your denim needs, grab gift bags, dance alongside the DJ’s, and grab a snack from Frida’s Taco truck. 6-11 PM

DASH Boutique – There will a black carpet, photo booth, and food truck at the WeHo Dash. Grab a drink and check out the designer pop-up booths.

The Beverly Center - This spot throws a huge bash with two fashion shows, lots of snacks, and a video address by mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Kendall Jenner is the night’s campaign model and expect other celeb appearances.

Abbot Kinney Block Party- A bunch of stores in Venice will be participating in the fun. At Heist you can bring in any gold and silver pieces you’d like to part with and earn cash to shop within the store. Artist Allie Pohl will debut an art instillation called “Ideal Woman” at the Mona Moore shop.

Robertson Blvd Block Party- Here the street will be roped off allowing for true block party action, which will include a laser show alongside music by Mayor Hawthorne. Stop in for cocktails at the participating shops like Kitson, Philip Lin, and Christian Louboutin. (Free tarot readings at the last. Get your life in order and some red soles on your feet.) 6-9PM

La Brea Block Party- Between 1st and 2nd street there will be food trucks a plenty, photo booths, and live music. There’s a trunk show at What Goes Around Comes Around (6-9) and drinks from Blind Barber will be served up at Unis (6-11).

Saks Fifth Avenue – Mega stylist turned designer Andrea Lieberman is hosting this Beverly Hills event, making a distinct choice to celebrate in L.A. over her home town New York. Her fall collection will be shown and available for purchase.

Santa Monica Place – This open-air mall will have two beauty lounges, a fashion show, a bunch of in-store events, and a performance by an American Idol contestant.

SLS Hotel – The private SAAM room inside the SLS is throwing a party earlier in the week with food and drinks provided by the Bazaar and a clothing display by Barbara Bui. The ticket only fundraiser dinner raises money for the Art of the Elysium charity.

The City of West Hollywood is hosting the after party at The Standard Hotel. 10PM.
