Minx of the Moment: Christina Massari
Christina Massari, a self-described “native California wild child” is everything a minx stands for. She’s effortlessly cool and naturally beautiful with a creative edge that easily makes the spotlight a place she knows quite simply as home.
At the age of two, she was discovered by a talent agent in a gift shop and her childhood changed overnight. Appearing in countless commercials for big-name companies like Carl’s Jr. & JC Penney and soap operas like Days of our Lives, Christina was a natural-born actress. Her favorite acting job, at the age of eight, was starring in a Barbie commercial, but she’s keen to stress that designing & creating has always been her main interest.
After graduating with a degree in Film, Christina landed a job at a prestigious film production company. After work, this pretty little minx can be found making jewelry in her workshop.
Actively designing jewelry ever since she can remember, Christina just recently launched her own hand-made whimsical line Dream Queen Jewelry. Christina laughs infectiously, “After my parents threw me a ‘Bead Bash,’ where my little friends and I made our own jewelry, I was hooked.” The collection is edgy and ethereal; it just makes you feel good to pile it on. Though you can purchase these charming pieces online, you can also meet Christina and buy them in person on September 16th at Space 15 Twenty at Minx Society’s Style Showcase.
When she’s not busy at work and launching her own line, Christina’s happiest dancing to Rock n’ Roll. Her favorite bands are Black Keys, Kings of Leon, Fleetwood Mac, The xx, The Weeknd, and Band of Horses. A frequenter at hot spots like Sayer’s Club, Sunset Marquis, and Franklin & Company, she can be found with a Dirty Shirley in hand; “I’ll take anything pink to drink.”
“My dream guy is a hopeless romantic just like me, you know – writes love letters, that whole thing,” Christina coyly admits. Her favorite date spots are Pace in the Hollywood Hills and Moonshadows in Malibu – for any of you suitors wanting an insider tip!
Christina just loves Los Angeles because “it’s so varied, and inspiring, and exciting, and always fresh.” But, when she wants a little escape from the hustle and bustle, she’ll head down to Balboa Island to chill out. “I love being by the sea and visiting all the little shops, especially having impromptu photo shoots in the photo booth at this neat arcade.”
For shopping, she’s obsessed with Planet Blue: “I love fashion that’s cutting edge, yet still pays homage to vintage inspirations – I’m a free-spirit and just love the Bohemian Chic look. Planet Blue is just ridiculously perfect for me.”
For this edition of Minx of the Moment, Austin Winchell shot Christina decked out in her jewelry line, out and about in Malibu.
