A new Westside hot spot is opening up just in time to complement your summer beach days…get ready for nightlife impresario Brent Bolthouse’s Santa Monica answer to West Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont. If that evokes feelings of prestigious gardens, bungalows, and a celebrity clientele – then you’ve got it just right. This new A-list hideaway called “The Bungalow” is an enchanting freestanding cottage dating back to 1947, perched on the property of The Fairmont Miramar Hotel.
The Bungalow is set to be an exclusive lounge with a game room, a bar, a private dining area, and of course an expansive patio with a fire pit. There will be food available similar in type to the hotel’s restaurant FIG, its own chef Ray Garcia is developing small bites. As of right now released renderings portray the spot as a beachy/lodge blend with white wooden rafters, framed photos, throw rugs, and fans for lounging beneath as you sip a cocktail and gaze at the garden or ocean. Sounds relaxing.
Studio Collective (who brought you The Spare Room) is designing the Wilshire and Ocean location with a “Baja-California” feel. Expect wood details and intimacy.
The Bungalow has perhaps been a long time coming…Bolthouse has reportedly been searching for the perfect Westside location for a decade. With successful collaborations under his belt like Hyde Lounge, Foxtail, and Katsuya, you can be sure he’s astute.
The Bungalow will be open to the public in July after a private soft opening on June 9th. (Don’t try to crash the soft opening; Dr. Jeffrey Sachs the UN advisor has it rented for dinner.) That gives you some time to practice your billiards skills before you head over in July and make use of the custom pool table. Personally, we ‘re can’t wait to end our sun-soaked summer days with lovely libations at this new beach side haunt!
