Minx Society Celebrates One Year

Minx Society celebrated our golden One Year Anniversary at the Hollywood Roosevelt’s Tropicana Bar last Thursday (September 29th, 2011), with a glammed out night featuring an eclectic array of the best of the best in the fashion, art, and music worlds of “new Hollywood.”

Admittedly, we here at Minx Society openly (and ostentatiously) weren’t afraid to revel in our own golden glory; sparing not one glitzy expense. Our goal was to make the already iconic Roosevelt Hotel pool scream decadence – and if you were one of the exclusive 500 in attendance – we hope we blew you out of the water!

From the golden live painting installation, a wealth of golden sweet treats by Frosted Cupcakery & Babycakes NYC , a gold gifting suite bursting with golden details everywhere (oh! the napkins, balloons, shot glasses, bags, tequila shots, glitter, & roses) and a team of minx models swathed in gold – the temporarily gilded Tropicana Bar dripped with opulence.

As a trendsetting authority for all things hip, Minx Society had no other option than to seamlessly reflect our M.O. at this One Year Anniversary – and to do so, we featured a series of effortlessly cool Hollywood players to join in on the fun. Taking our “new Hollywood” bash to the next level were iSHOWMYSELF’s DJ Pika and Will Crimes, who threw down cool vibes as guests danced and posed for Paper Magazine’s Douglas Neil, Guest of a Guest’s Brent Harrison, and famed LA photographer Rony Alwin.

To highlight our appreciation for the revitalization of art in LA, we were lucky enough to appoint the geniuses that make up “CYRCLE.” – the inspired trio participated in one of their legendary live art installations, taking turns in creating a glimmering gun masterpiece.

Our fashion spotlight of the night were the masterminds behind Shop Trashy, a new LA-based online boutique featuring all the best vintage finds of yesterday and new designer duds of today.

Perhaps the climax of the night was the surprise performance by a team of synchronized swimmers known as the Aqualillies (yep, these bombshell water babes performed at Justin Timberlake’s 30th birthday party). Guests rushed to the edges of the illustrious David Hockney-painted pool while bikini-clad ladies splished and splashed in unison. It was the perfect performance to end this Golden night, bridging the gap between old and new Hollywood – besides, who can ever say they’ve witnessed a synchronized swimming performance in their life?!

Cheers to another year little minxes – get ready for many more parties & of course, booze & babes!
