Lo-Fi Photography with Holga Inspire at the Icon

Yeah, digital photography is great. You get instant feedback and easy sharing and it’s cheap. But nothing will ever match the thrill and beauty of analog, the permanence and impermanence of film, the capturing of images without all of those pixels. It doesn’t matter how good your “vintage camera” app is.

That’s why the Gallery at The Icon will be showing Holga Inspire, a photographic exhibit showing off the best photography from Holga’s brand of plastic pinhole cameras. The exhibition is an international ordeal, having traveled through Bangkok as well as locations in the United States.

The exhibition will display 42 photographs from ten accomplished photographers: Michelle Bates, David Burnett, Tammy Cromer-Campbell, Taiju Fubuki, Teru Kuwayama, Pauline St. Denis, Harvey Stein, Rebecca Tolk, Susan Bowen and Annu Palakunnathu Matthew. The exhibit runs through April 1st, and is open to the public.
