YSL’s Belle D’Opium ball
Everyone who is anyone has been buzzing over Yves Saint Laurent’s Belle d’Opium perfume launch party; so much so that the grand ball has lived up to its legacy dating back to the infamous launch of the original ‘Opium’ fragrance, which took place in 1977.
It-girl Alexa Chung DJed (and chose the perfect ensemble to do it in: gray tee, cream cardigan and destructed black leather shorts from the YSL Spring 2010 collection), circus freaks (jugglers, fire breathers, and Tarot Card readers, of course) entertained and Minx Society was lucky enough to mingle with the likes of Whitney Port, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Alexis Bledel, MIA, fashion designer Jeremy Scott, internet sensation Cory Kennedy, photographer Mark “The Cobrasnake” Hunter and Ashley Olsen.
Our pick for the night: Maggie Gyllenhaal, who looked beyond stunning in a pink chiffon YSL Edition Soir 2010 dress with Yves Saint Laurent Hamptons Tribute sandals. We also loved Whitney Port’s choice: a black and tan Yigal Azrouël Spring 2010 collection dress (the reality star was inseparable from ‘The City’ camera crew, although we were surprised to find that mega-bitch and co-star New York socialite Olivia Palermo was not in attendance).
To top off the over-the-top bash, the celebrated fragrance was released through the gold cylinders at the end of the night…
